Williams College

Williams CollegeWilliams College is one of the country's finest small liberal arts schools, and is consistently ranked among the nation's best small colleges. Founded in 1793, it is the second oldest institution of higher learning in Massachusetts. The college enrolls 2,000 students, mostly undergraduates with a small number of graduate students studying Art History and Development Economics. Williams College Museum of Art TheaterOne of the finest college art museums in the country, the Williams College Museum of Art (WCMA) houses 12,000 works that span the history of art. Within the broad range of time periods and cultures represented, the collection emphasizes modern and contemporary art, American art from the late 18th century to present, and the art of world cultures. Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute

Sterling and Francine Clark Art InstituteThe Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute is a world-renowned art museum and a center for research and higher education, dedicated to advancing and extending the public understanding of art. Sterling and Francine Clark were private art collectors who developed a remarkable collection of paintings, sculpture and other works including pieces by Degas, Renoir, Monet, Sargent and others over the first decades of the 20th century. In 1950 the Clarks founded the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute as a permanent home for their collection, and the museum first opened to the public in 1955. Taconic Golf Club

The Taconic Golf ClubThe Taconic Golf Club is consistently rated among the best college golf courses in the nation. Owned by Williams College, this semi-private course was designed by Wayne Stiles and John van Kleek and built in 1895. The Taconic is located just steps from Cable Mills. Images Cinema

Williamstown's only movie theatre, Images Cinema is a non-profit film house screening quality independent and foreign films. Images is located on Spring Street, among a variety of shops, restaurants and art galleries, and is a short walk from Cable Mills. www.imagescinema.org



Williamstown Theatre Festival

The Williamstown Theatre Festival is a top-notch summer stock theatre company presenting hundreds of performances each summer. Many WTF productions have gone on to run on Broadway, off-Broadway and in the country's best regional theaters. Founded in 1954, WTF has grown to offer not only great theatre, but also theatrical training and outreach programs. Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA)
