Cable Mills awarded funding! Cable Mills has received a strong commitment from State in support of affordable homes. The developers of Cable Mills recently received word that the undertaking has been awarded funding from State and Federal sources to support the construction of the affordable homes to be created.

The funds will come through the Commonwealth’s Department of Housing and Community Development’s HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), and through the Massachusetts Affordable Housing Trust Fund.

Some of the homes created at Cable Mills will be for moderate income individuals and families, earning 80% or less of the areas median income. With home values in the Berkshire skyrocketing in recent years, coupled with limited increases in the overall housing stock in recent years, the homes being created at Cable Mills will make significant progress toward increasing the affordable housing inventory in the area.
