New Cable Mills Developer Selected

December 1, 2006

New Cable Mills Developer Selected. In June of 2006 the redevelopment of the Cable Mills site suffered a major setback when the site owner and developer, Bob Kuehn of Keen Development in Cambridge, died suddenly and unexpectedly.

Bob Kuehn was renowned throughout historic preservation circles for his efforts to save notable New England industrial buildings, turning them into distinctive residential communities. More information on Bob Kuehn and his work is available here www.keencorp.com.

Following his death, the Estate of Bob Kuehn approached developer Bart Mitchell of Boston with the hope that Mitchell Properties might continue the development of Cable Mills in the same spirit envisioned by Bob Kuehn. “Bart and Bob shared much in common with regard to their approach to preservation and development,” said Dan Taylor, friend of Bob Kuehn and Executor of the Kuehn Estate. “The fact that Bart was willing to take the reigns at Cable Mills and pick up where things left off would please Bob greatly.”

Bart Mitchell also has strong ties to the area, as an alumnus of Williams College (Class of 1981) and a former Trustee of the College.
