About Cable Mills: Development Team

Cable Mills is a venture of 160 Water LLC. 160 Water LLC is managed by Mitchell Properties, a Boston-based development company with expertise in adaptive reuse of historic structures and distinctive new construction.

Bart Mitchell, president of Mitchell Properties, has been a prominent developer and management advisor for superior real estate properties in New England and the mid-Atlantic for more than 20 years.

The firm brings together the right development team for each project through its established relationships with architects, engineers and contractors. In the case of Cable Mills, that team includes the award-winning architecture firm of Finegold Alexander + Associates (FA+A) www.faainc.com, well known for such notable historic restoration projects such as Boston’s Wang Center, Baker Library at Harvard Business School, and the Ellis Island National Monument (at $150 million, the largest single restoration project ever undertaken in the United States). FA+A has brought their experience in planning, restoration and adaptive reuse to the Cable Mills project.

Kaplan Corporation www.kaplancorp.com, a Boston-based contracting and building firm, has been enlisted for preconstruction general contracting services, including estimating, design refinement oversight, and value engineering. Kaplan is known as a leading builder in the field of adaptive reuse of historic structures, with the experience and understanding of what it takes to convert former industrial buildings to residential communities.

The synergy of skilled professionals working together as a team results in a creative and exciting approach to planning and development. At Mitchell Properties, quality is an imperative, and great care is given to architectural design, landscaping and site planning, construction, interior finishes, mechanical systems and property management.
